When Pictures Speaks Louder than Words

with 4 comments

This week I am posting pictures that speaks louder than words.  It is in response to the senseless killings, lawlessness, and outright disregard for human life in Trinidad & Tobago.

Vision 2020

How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one’s culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light. Barry Lopez

A Face of Courage

with one comment

Camille Daniel died trying to save her life and her friend.   She died a HERO.

Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow. Jack Ass of the Day Award (Again)

with 5 comments

PM Patrick Manning is Jackass of the Day (again)

*drumroll* and the award goes to PM Patrick Manning (again)

Is this man for real?  Who writes his speeches?  Does he pulls it out of his ass?  So I am reading the express and there’s the headline, “WE WILL PAY IN BLOOD” and PM picture is next to it.  First it was cutlass now it’s blood.  Very unbecoming of a Prime Minister.  His choice of words are improper, inappropriate, and tasteless for the political arena.

Below are a couple of PM assanine comments and my response/questions to his assanine comments.  For the rest of his insanely stupid speech, click here.

The floundering Eastern Caribbean economies pose a serious threat to the economic welfare and well-being of the people and economy of Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Patrick Manning warned yesterday.

Mr. PM the well-being of the people of Trinidad and Tobago is already affected.  HELLO, have you not been reading the papers or tuning in to the 7p news.  Do you not know the crime rate of your own country?  Trinidad is already under a serious threat.

These threats involve mass illegal migration of the people of the Eastern Caribbean states into Trinidad and Tobago, an increase in drug activity, which increases the risk of the development.

Incase you haven’t noticed PM, I believe we already have these treats:- illegal migration, a drastic increase in drug activity, and you can add to it:- murder, rape, kidnapping, and gang wars; and all these threats have already increased the risk of the country development.

“We will pay in blood for taking such a position.”

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

This country was moving ahead, he said, noting that his statement that the economic downturn was a “blip” was by no means a “slip of the lip”, given the fact that oil prices were now $70 plus a barrel.

The economic downturn was a “blip?”  Do you know something the experts don’t?  Please share it with the rest of the world so they can say the same; and you think that the price of oil is going to stay $70 a barrel?

“I am not an obeah man. I have been around for a long time,” he said.

You’re so right not being an obeah man.  You are Mr. PM a donkey man.  As I said before your choice of words are improper, inappropriate, and tasteless for the political arena.

“We are not going to have enough police officers to stop the influx of illegal migrants into Trinidad and Tobago…That is the reality of it.”

We don’t even have enough police officers now to stop crime and add to that:- not enough police vehicles.  That’s a reality!  Duh!

He predicted that such a development would place enormous pressure on the social services. It would lead to squatting and then to avoid this problem, Government would have to provide them with housing, “taking away from those who are legitimately citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and therefore entitled (to housing)”. Government would also have to provide school places to the children of illegal migrants, as well as health care, he noted.

Duh!  Correct me if I am wrong, but don’t these problems exist already.  What f-ing planet are you living on?

Gitmo detainees sent to Bermuda

with 4 comments

And I ask myself WHY?

  • An executive order signed to close Guantanamo Bay without a plan of action.
  • Americans do not want them in their back-yard.

Then why should any island in the Caribbean extend an olive branch??????

Bermuda Premier Ewart Brown said, “It was the right thing to do.”  The right thing for who?  You.  The Premier did not consult with Britain (which handles Bermuda’s defense).

The islanders of Bermuda are angry and outraged, and who could blame them.

Dozens unleashed their anger on the Facebook page of a local paper, The Royal Gazette.

“Our Island is struggling at this present time with shootings, gangs … and road fatalities. These are the issues we need to focus on, not where are we going to house Guantanamo Bay Chinese Muslims which inevitably we as taxpayers will be supporting,” one entry said.

I wonder how much it took for the Premier to sell his soul?

I only hope that this does not spread to other islands in the Caribbean, especially Trinidad.  The last thing Trinidad & Tobago needs is this.

The Hangover

with 4 comments

I just came from the movies and The Hangover was hilarious, yes it was funny as hell. It is now number one on my all time favorite comedy list, it actually knocked out my all time favourite Bad Santa.  If you haven’t seen it as yet make a date and go, you will laugh out loud. :)

I can’t wait for it to be released on DVD. Yeh that’s how much I enjoyed it.

Jackass of the Day Award

with 5 comments

Today’s Jackass of the Day Award goes to PM Patrick Manning for an assanine comment (well way more than a comment) that makes him truly worthy of the award.  Below is one of PM Patrick Manning assanine comment.  For the rest of his insanely stupid speech, click here.

“All I’m saying to you all, ladies and gentlemen, is to sharpen your political cutlass, because you see Eric Williams, he used to say you don’t shoot until you see the white of the eye. Their eyes are getting whiter and whiter, your eye is getting whiter and whiter.”

Question:  How many sheep can PM lead to the slaughter house?
Answer: 3000 strong and counting.

Pity the fools!
