Jack Ass of the Day Award (Again)

with 5 comments

PM Patrick Manning is Jackass of the Day (again)

*drumroll* and the award goes to PM Patrick Manning (again)

Is this man for real?  Who writes his speeches?  Does he pulls it out of his ass?  So I am reading the express and there’s the headline, “WE WILL PAY IN BLOOD” and PM picture is next to it.  First it was cutlass now it’s blood.  Very unbecoming of a Prime Minister.  His choice of words are improper, inappropriate, and tasteless for the political arena.

Below are a couple of PM assanine comments and my response/questions to his assanine comments.  For the rest of his insanely stupid speech, click here.

The floundering Eastern Caribbean economies pose a serious threat to the economic welfare and well-being of the people and economy of Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Patrick Manning warned yesterday.

Mr. PM the well-being of the people of Trinidad and Tobago is already affected.  HELLO, have you not been reading the papers or tuning in to the 7p news.  Do you not know the crime rate of your own country?  Trinidad is already under a serious threat.

These threats involve mass illegal migration of the people of the Eastern Caribbean states into Trinidad and Tobago, an increase in drug activity, which increases the risk of the development.

Incase you haven’t noticed PM, I believe we already have these treats:- illegal migration, a drastic increase in drug activity, and you can add to it:- murder, rape, kidnapping, and gang wars; and all these threats have already increased the risk of the country development.

“We will pay in blood for taking such a position.”

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

This country was moving ahead, he said, noting that his statement that the economic downturn was a “blip” was by no means a “slip of the lip”, given the fact that oil prices were now $70 plus a barrel.

The economic downturn was a “blip?”  Do you know something the experts don’t?  Please share it with the rest of the world so they can say the same; and you think that the price of oil is going to stay $70 a barrel?

“I am not an obeah man. I have been around for a long time,” he said.

You’re so right not being an obeah man.  You are Mr. PM a donkey man.  As I said before your choice of words are improper, inappropriate, and tasteless for the political arena.

“We are not going to have enough police officers to stop the influx of illegal migrants into Trinidad and Tobago…That is the reality of it.”

We don’t even have enough police officers now to stop crime and add to that:- not enough police vehicles.  That’s a reality!  Duh!

He predicted that such a development would place enormous pressure on the social services. It would lead to squatting and then to avoid this problem, Government would have to provide them with housing, “taking away from those who are legitimately citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and therefore entitled (to housing)”. Government would also have to provide school places to the children of illegal migrants, as well as health care, he noted.

Duh!  Correct me if I am wrong, but don’t these problems exist already.  What f-ing planet are you living on?

  1. Hmmm. I think one of Manning’s major weak points is that he (or his speech writers) doesn’t choose his words wisely and that in turn can turn people off and cause them to miss the truth of what he is saying. I read the comments at the end of the Express post and most people focused on the “We Will Pay In Blood” part of the speech.

What they missed is the part where he tries to explain the need to assist other countries and where he implies that our (T&T’s) inaction will fall back on us and cause a further increase in crime (blood). HE IS VERY RIGHT! Trinidadians have a “deal with crime in WE country” mentality, and as much as I believe we have to deal with crime in our country, people need to wake up and realize that we are not cut off from the rest of islands.

While I was in Barbados some years ago, I was looking at the news and a report came in on crime statistics. There had been a sharp increase in crimes with the MAJORITY of crimes being committed by illegal immigrants who came over from poorer islands.

It’s the same thing here. Yes, we have to get hold of the crime situation here, but until we realize just how much of a role illegal immigrants, drugs, and poverty play in crime in OUR country, we will be stuck in la-la land thinking that increased police presence is the answer to all our problems.

    • amm… with all said… doesnt it make sense to actually still secure your country by fighting the existing criminal elements and getting a handle on them first… before you, PM PM, rush out and talk about possible illegals coming here to commit crime?

Manning and his ‘friends’ know exactly what drivel to spew. it gets their ppl whipped into a frenzy… all of the blood and cutlass talk has me thinking about civil war in Africa and how to claim asylum in a foreign land.
